DESCRIPTION:Back by popular demand: NMPAS performs “Zarzuela at The Plaza Ballroom” in Las Vegas for a second time! The first Zarzuela program took place at The Plaza Hotel in September 2019. Zarzuela, also known as Spanish operetta, combines spoken dialogue and music, including ensemble pieces, solo songs called romanzas, folk music and dance. The Zarzuela II program includes music of Francisco Asenjo Barbieri (1823-1894), Tomás Bretón (1850-1923), José Serrano (1873-1941), Federico Moreno Torroba (1891-1982), Pablo Sorozábal (1897-1988), and others.\nProgram & Artist Roster\nJennifer Perez, soprano\nChristina Martos, soprano\nAndré García-Nuthmann, tenor\nCarlos Archuleta, baritone\nFranz Vote, Artistic Director and pianist\nLinda Marianiello, narrator\nTickets through New Mexico Highlands University Music Department (505-454-3359) or at the door.
